Failing septic tanks are a source of pollutants to the Reedy. Both Upstate Forever and Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District received grant funding from SCDES/EPA under the 319 program to repair or replace failing septic tanks in two smaller watersheds (Walnut Creek and Huff Creek) within the Reedy River watershed. The grant cycle lasted two years for each grant. A dozen grateful residents were able to receive a cost share from the grant in their area. Unfortunately there are no grants currently available for this work.
