Multiple organizations help out to pick up litter from the Reedy River and keep it clean! ReWa, Conestee Nature Preserve, and Friends of the Reedy River all organize litter sweeps, and Greenville County offers the Litter Ends Here app to provide an easy way for citizens to report litter.
ReWa Litter Efforts
ReWa has been participating in river cleanups since the 90s. Brushy Creek, a tributary of the Reedy River, and the Reedy itself run through ReWa's main campus on Mauldin Road in Greenville, where ReWa hosts annual River Sweeps with it's staff, and regular litter pickups. Since 2022, ReWa has removed over 10,000 lbs of litter from the Reedy, Brushy, and adjacent wetlands and streambanks.
| Year | Amount of trash collected (lbs) |
| 2022 | 954 |
| 2023 | 2404 |
| 2024 | 2466 |
| 2025 | 4642 |

Conestee Litter Efforts
Conestee Nature Preserve hosts numerous litter sweeps each year to collect waste that washes down the Reedy River and gathers in the Preserve's wetlands. Since 2021, the Preserve and its dedicated volunteers have collected more than 14,000 lbs of litter, including at least 79 tires.
Further Litter Efforts
FORR, Palmetto Pride, and Greenville County all pick up trash with community efforts like the Polar Pick Up.
